501
501 combines a high crossing throw with a quick handoff, creating a compact two-ball pattern for height control and precise timing.
Throw sequence
501 practices alternating a high crossing throw with a quick, direct pass between your palms. Set the crossing throw high enough to keep the rhythm steady and leave time for the pass and next high throw before catching the first ball. It uses the same timing skill as Two-Ball Shower and 411, where you also adjust the main throw’s height for quick movements underneath. Practice one section separately: the high throw, pass, and next high throw. If you must rush the pass, the high throw is too low; if you finish the pass and then wait for the first ball to come down, it is too high. Send the pass directly between your ready palms. An unnecessary arc takes longer and disrupts the rhythm as you alternate sides.
