Single-Ball Column
ThrowA single vertical toss for training a straight path, consistent peaks, and accurate placement before adding more balls to the pattern.
Throw sequence
This toss isolates the column movement: the ball leaves your hand vertically and returns to the same palm without drifting across your body’s center. Keep your shoulder relaxed and your elbow naturally by your side, and generate force mainly with a smooth forearm lift. A sharp wrist flick often sends the ball forward or sideways. Focus mainly on the peak of the path. When it stays in the same place and at the same height, the throw has a repeatable rhythm. Catch below the peak, do not chase the ball with your palm, and notice whether your hand moves inward after release. Practice with each hand separately and compare their paths. An accurate column will make it easier to add more balls and perform Same-Hand Toss consistently.
