Two-Ball Wimpy Drill

Drill

A two-ball drill for Wimpy sends both balls across together, isolating the crossing paths and synchronous timing of the full pattern.

Throw sequence

⏳

This two-ball drill focuses on the hardest part of Wimpy: two simultaneous throws that cross without disrupting each other’s rhythm. Do not just check whether both balls reach the opposite hands. Pay attention mainly to releasing them together and catching them together without rushing. Guide each ball separately, and do not let one hand wait for the other. If one ball regularly arrives earlier, do not correct this by rushing the catch. Return your attention to the simultaneous release and compare the paths of both throws. A useful run ends when both balls reach your hands in the same rhythm and you can send the next pair without hesitation. This develops precise coordination between the paired throws, which you can then use in the full Wimpy pattern.
